A Note to Admitted Students
Congratulations on your acceptance to the GESI Program!
We are excited that you have decided to embark on this adventure, and we look forward to getting to know you better in the coming months. Going abroad–especially on a program like GESI–is something that requires inquisitiveness, flexibility, maturity, and a willingness to be alert and proactive. You were selected for this program because our team believes you demonstrate these qualities. It is our expectation that you will not only exhibit these characteristics while abroad, but also during all phases leading up to the program. That means replying to our emails promptly with important information for our partner organizations; that means turning in our requirements on or before the deadlines stipulated; and it also means doing one’s homework–including proactively getting informed about culture, visas, climate, immunizations, etc. We provide a lot of information to get you started–but the more you put into preparing for your GESI experience, the more you’ll get out of it.
Thanks and congratulations!
